Kay is a Cornish girl, who is
an experienced singer in both Opera and Oratorio, in and around
Cornwall and Devon. For many years she was a principal soloist
with Duchy Opera; her last role being the title role in Handel’s
Semele.
She has been a soloist with many Choral Societies;
singing a wide range of Oratorio. A performance of Mozart’s Requiem
in Blackburn Cathedral is the furthest she has had to travel for an
engagement.
For several years she was part of a trio, known
as the Treloar Trio with a pianist and clarinettist. They performed
a wide repertoire of music which was rarely performed in Cornwall.
Now that Kay has reduced her singing commitments, she has taken
up pottery, which she greatly enjoys, if still having some
considerable way to go in producing good, symmetrical pots!
She also enjoys study days, lectures and classes on Art history,
especially Cornish artists and a few weeks ago, she had her first
Zipwire experience, which proved to be great fun.
Her
weakness, sadly one of many, is an addiction to Lindt chocolate in
all its forms. A habit introduced to her by her mother in law!!
She is delighted to be performing Opera once again, with long
standing friends, at the beautiful venue of Trevince.
