Clive Ellison, from St Agnes is well known throughout the county as an accompanist and repetiteur. He was educated at Truro School where he became organ scholar under Henry Doughty. On leaving school he became a student at Dartington College of Arts where he studied organ with John Wellingham and harpsichord with Roy Truby. Whilst at Dartington, an introduction to piano and organ maintenance led to a working life in musical instrument technology and he now spends his time tuning and repairing keyboard instruments as well as playing them.

Clive is in demand as accompanist for the numerous soloists, choirs and operatic societies throughout Cornwall. Memorable events include `Songs of Praise' from Camborne for the BBC, Gershwin and Cole Porter at the Theatre Royal Plymouth and twice visiting the Royal Albert Hall with the Cornish massed male choirs, once as pianist in 1994 and again as organist in 2000. He is accompanist to three of Cornwall's music festivals and plays the organ at St Agnes Parish Church. In 2003 Clive was awarded the Gorsedd shield for services to music.
